In the US, the Guild of Music Supervisors was founded to act as a valuable, highly specialized resource to further the understanding of the constant evolution of music in media and for related guilds who benefit from our expertise.
As such it tries to ensure that music supervisors are not forgotten in their work and when it comes to awards ceremony.
Nominees for the 2014 awards
The guild also has its own award series. Although the winners are not yet known, it has announced its nominees for the 2014 Music Supervisor Guild awards. This includes nominees in musical, reality TV and other sections. It also further breaks down the awards into films according to budget, to ensure smaller films are also given some space.
Musicians music publishers, if you were looking for a list of the real who’s-who in music supervision, this is it (for the US at least). The winners will be announced at a ceremony in January.
